It was originally released as a single in 2009 under the artist name, The Human Race - a collaboration project n-Somnia attempted, which failed to startup.

What’s behind, behind that closed door?
I need it, I want it, and I’m begging for more.
Like pus in a bucket the filthy reeking stench,
Someone’s holding it, in a tight gripped clench.
Let it go let me be free.
That’s all I want and all I need.

I watched you from so far away.
Afraid to move close but afraid to stray.
What can I do? My mind is a blur.
Like a fighting mongrel in its mangled fur.
Should I make a mad dash and run from the bullet.
Should I stay and fight? Should I take it and pull it?
Tight to my chest in my heaving breaths.
Is it a gift? Is it a curse?
I hold on tight and it just gets worse.

I try to scream but my words choke up.
I try to fight back but it’s not enough.
Will it devour me like an angry lion?
Steal my happiness and just keep tryin',
To take what is mine and I begin to pray.
Trying to find the end of this horrible day.
To begin so new with joy and peace.
I’m strangled I’m choked and I can’t find the out.

n-Somnia is a solo project by New Zealand musician, Jared Rowbotham. Formed in 2002 (even though some material dates as far back as 1999), n-Somnia saw some success on the Worldwide Web on various websites, but most notably BeSonic.com with the song "Robot Lover From Mars".

In 2004 the project was put in hiatus mode, then into retirement in 2006...until his surprise comeback in 2011. ... more
